Congrats to our co-founder and logo art, Lewis, on the birth of his first baby logo! Now get dancing baby!
February 26, 2013
We're not dead. We have a new short. Watch it here.
April 20, 2011
Here's some non-Untucked news, but every bit as newsworthy as anything posted in the past. Our good friend and local bartender is hosting a fundraiser called "Pong For Teeth," which we are pretty psyched about. And he made a video explaing it, which we are also psyched about. Check it out below and then come to the event at B61 on Saturday, April 30. Even the Gothamist is getting in on the action!
March 25, 2011
Julian Velard and our "Love Again" video was recently featured on the UK's Album Chart Show. Check it out.
March 14, 2011
Our 3rd installment of the Boys Will Be Girls series brought to you by the Harvard Sailing Team is now out and viewable. It's called "Bixby the Cat." If you need to be brought up to speed, here are the others: Boys/Girls and Night Out. Enjoy!
February 24, 2011
We updated our facebook page with some of our videos so that they can be found there as well as here. If you are not already a member of "Untucked Films doesn't mean what it says when it drinks," would you like to become one? Join us, it's relatively painless.
February 18, 2011
Happy birthday to Lewis, the keymaster.
January 06, 2011
We're very pleased to (finally) post The Funeral on our website. We shot it in 2008, did the festival circuit in 2009, and now in the spirit of a new year, we're putting it on the interweb for the masses to watch. We sincerely hope you enjoy.
December 26, 2010
Happy birthday to our captain, Steve!
December 17, 2010
Our latest music video was just released by Mr. Saturday Night himself, Julian Velard. It's for his song "Love Again (For The First Time)" to be released on his upcoming 2011 album "Mr. Saturday Night." See it here.
We shot this last month in various Red Hook and Cobble Hill locations, per usual (because that's what we do, and Lewis and Julian both live there). Big thanks to Lindsay Mann (DP), Brad Wilson (Design), Erin Waters (Editor) and KatieMac (AC) for their mighty fine contributions.
And for the diehards out there, here's Julian's behind-the-scenes "The Making Of..." video.
December 16, 2010
Big ol' birthday wishes go out to Patrick, who we haven't seen much of but hope is well in the Minnesota tundra.
December 01, 2010
Happy birthday, Jonathan! (For your birthday, here's a reminder that Bright Eyes presale tix today at noon... you're welcome).
November 02, 2010
A new Harvard Sailing Team & Untucked collaboration was released today! It's a music video for their new hit song, "The World Is The Best." Check it out and then go here to download the mp3 and help out the ummm.... world.
September 23, 2010
Just a reminder about the Bushwick Film Festival tomorrow night... looks like we're in the 8pm slot, but funness at the Brooklyn Fire Proof starts at 6pm. All the details are best detailed on the festival's facebook invite.
September 21, 2010
Happy birthday to our main man Charles D!
September 19, 2010
For the 4th year in a row, the
goodamazing folks over at the Bushwich Film Festival are showing some of our stuff, and it's happening this coming weekend, specifically Friday night (Sept. 24). Come out to support this great Brooklyn-based festival and to see our three Harvard Sailing Team shorts and also Vault of Crushes.August 07, 2010
We've put up two more new shorts - Vault of Crushes and Design Your Own Boyfriend. They are both basically about guys wanting to meet girls... so in short, brillant filmmaking. Check them out at your earliest convenience.
July 16, 2010
Lots and lots of updates, so...
We have some new shorts recently out on YouTube and more to come in the next couple of months. Please check out the sequel to the Harvard Sailing Team Boys/Girls shorts, this time called Night Out. And also check out our latest, aptly titled Superdouche.
If you can't wait for the rollout of new stuff or simply want to own your own hardcopy, we have dvds for sale. It has 14 shorts and music videos, including our fan-favorite The Funeral. Email us to order one for only $10 + shipping.
We would also like to publicly thank everyone who came out to our private screening at Anthology Films last month. We could not ask for better support, and next time we will try to figure out a way to make it come-one-come-all event.
Lastly, Untucked would like to welcome the 2nd baby into the fold,
name TBDSophia (butlet's just say the Giraldi's are doing all the work). Big congratulations to Steve and Nicole.
May 10, 2010
We are very excited to announce the addition of Patrick Armitage to Unutcked Films. Pat has been our resident DP and all-around camera guru for some time now, and we could not be happier to have him on board, officially, as a member of Untucked.
April 17, 2010
Even more positive mentions of the Boys/Girls videos, this time from Comedy Central and Cosmo (the latter of which was nice enough to retouch every frame of both videos to remove all those gross blemishes and blotches).
Also, we show another sketch with HST last weekend, so be on the lookout for that coming up soon.
April 13, 2010
The Harvard Sailing Team were on the CBS Early Show this morning discussing the Boys/Girls videos that we shot and produced with them.
April 07, 2010
We've posted two new commercials - our 2nd Sony Ericsson ad (which aired during the NCAA basketball tournament this year) and our version of the Verbatim ad (the official version is embedded below).
April 03, 2010
Awhile back, we teamed up with this great sketch comedy group called the Harvard Sailing Team to put one of their stage sketches on camera and then onward to the internet. And that finally happened last week. And people seem to like them, and by people we mean NYMag's Vulture, Buzzfeed, Jezebel and Best Week Ever. So that's pretty cool. Check the videos out on Youtube or on our Shorts page.
February 18, 2010
If you love cold weather and golfball-size welts as much as we do, meet us on Saturday in Staten Island for a game of paintball (what are we thinking?!?) in celebration of Lewis's 30th birthday. We're sticking with the formula: Age increase = Intelligence decrease.
February 17, 2010
We shot a viral ad for Verbatim at the end of last year. Here's the finished spot.
January 22, 2010
Congratulations go out to Chuck and Alana, who got engaged last weekend. We're super psyched because they met at our Loose Tea shoot a few years back, and in recognition of our filmmaking and matchmaking abilities, Alana has agreed to wear the wedding dress of our choice. Add fashion designer to our list of abilities, please.
December 28, 2009
Annual "best-of" lists rule, especially when you are included in them. Current TV named "Facebook Status-Off" #3 of the Top 5 Comedy Viral Videos of 2009, surpassing the likes of Sarah Silverman and something about a cat playing a keyboard... further legitimizing our motto of "Genius filmmaking for the easily impressed." (Update: It seems Silverman did not like her ranking and the video below has since been removed, but here is a link the the blog post).
December 26, 2009
Untucked birthday wishes go out to our elder statesman, Steve.
Also, a farewell to 2009, and an enthusiastic welcome to 2010. We hope to make lots of new stuff and have a kick-ass screening in the next coming months. So don't forget about us.
December 01, 2009
Happy birthday to Jonathan. I plan to give him a gift in the form of verbal harassment for leaving Trouser Mouse to die a slow cyber death. Bring it back!
November 05, 2009
And it's up - check out our interview on The Reel Good Show with Bobby Miller (below).
October 30, 2009
We were on the Reel Good Show last night, and Bobby Miller is dreamy! Look for that to come out late next week. We'll post it here too.
We are very excited to get back to shooting. We've got a good one planned for tomorrow involving Williamsburg and a cape.
Also, awhile back we were on TV. And for archival purposes, we decided to post the intros below.
Happy Halloween, everyone. Get weird.
Current TV intro to "Facebook Status-Off" from Untucked Films on Vimeo.
Comedy Central's Atom TV intro to "How To Get Gonorrhea" from Untucked Films on Vimeo.
October 28, 2009
Check us out on the Reel Good Show with Bobby Miller tomorrow evening (Oct. 29) at 6:30pm EST at this address. It's supposedly streamed live with a live chat, so you can ask us questions online that you are too afraid to ask us to our faces. (We are big proponents of the anonymity of the internet). We are also bringing a very special guest!
September 21, 2009
Happy birthday to Chuck, the Untucked editor extraordinaire.
September 20, 2009
We're a little tardy reporting our latest accolade, but the fine folks at the 2009 Bushwick Film Festival awarded "Best Short Comedy" to The Funeral, and excuse our juvenile excitement, but we got a personalized silver flask! Check it out below.
Photo by Patrick Armitage.Below are a couple of more pictures from the festival.
The Funeral Q&A with Randal, the host, and Lewis.

August 21, 2009
Three years running, the kind girls over at the Bushwick Film Festival will be showing some of our stuff. It's always a mystery to us what they plan to show, but we give them free reign and they give us free beer. Go out and support them, NYC. It's next weekend at the Lumenhouse at 47 Beaver Street. Films and art all three nights, with Untucked stuff showing Friday.
August 17, 2009
Alberta loves us! The Funeral will now be showing in both Calgary, as mentioned below, and Edmonton in the Edmonton International Film Festival. And it's the exact same week - September 25 through October 3. What other festivals along Hwy 2 can we get involved with? (We're talking to you Athabasca.)
July 23, 2009
Just found out that The Funeral will be showing in yet another film festival, this time in Canada at the Calgary International Film Festival. The festival will take place from September 25 to October 4, 2009.
July 01, 2009
We've finished the debut music video for our friends, the Generationals, and their song "Angry Charlie." Check it out here or also posted on the label's youtube site.
Much credit and thanks goes to the contributions from Patrick Armitage (AD) and Eric Ramistella (online editor), but also especially to Mandy and Tim Hutchings, who did all the animations and After Effects work.
And go buy Con Law. It's amazing.
June 12, 2009
We've had some nice blog buzz for Facebook Status-Off, which we'd like to share. Thanks to these folks for posting it.
June 09, 2009
New Untucked Short Alert! Click here to watch our latest comedy, "Facebook Status-Off." After viewing, go here to sign up for the newest online craze, Bojanjo.

Untucked news to note...
1) Chuck's quietly been busy developing some branded campaign work for both Office Depot and Sony Ericsson, which can now be viewed on our Commercials page.
2) As mentioned prior, The Funeral is screening this Sunday in the Hoboken Film Festival at the Cedar Lane Cinemas. If Irish pubs aren't your scene, perhaps a dark theatre is.
3) For our diehard fans, we've replaced the Atom version of How To Get Gonorrhea with the original version as seen at our 2008 screening.
4) We've posted a little silent short that Lewis made for his friend, Ritchie. Shot on super 8 in Portland, Oregon, it's not the usual Untucked project but rather a memento of sorts. It's called The Poison Tree.
5) And lastly, check back soon(ish) for a new comedy short from Jonathan and a music video directed by Lewis for our friends, the Generationals.
May 01, 2009
A quick reminder that The Funeral is making its NYC debut and The Wildflower is showing again this upcoming Monday night at Galapagos in Dumbo, Brooklyn. Weekends are for amateurs. Come out on a Monday. Screening begins at 7pm.
And we are pleased to say that one month after the Dumbo screening, The Funeral will be showing two rivers over in the Hoboken Film Festival at the Cedar Lane Cinemas on Sunday, May 31.
April 16, 2009
The Funeral trailer is now posted.
April 15, 2009
We're back from Aspen, and three Funeral screenings, numerous Q&A's, and a few too many sidecars later, we gotta admit: we had a damn good time.
Untucked easily won the festival award for largest entourage, as we hauled 14 folks out west for the week of films and skiing.
Below is a picture of J. Emmerling, J. Harford and some of the other festival filmmakers at a local high school, taken before they gave lectures on the unfortunate side effects of filmmaking. Following the lecture, the teacher asked the kids for their homework, and Emmerling blanched. Harford was then stuffed into a locker by Brandon Battersby, age 17.
Check out IndieWire's recap of the festival. And thanks to the festival folks for hosting such a fun festival and showing such quality films. If you ever get a chance to see something at the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, you should - it's beautiful.
March 18, 2009
More film festival news...
Aspen has released their schedule, and The Funeral is 1 of 56 chosen and is one of the few with multiple screenings over the course of the festival. There's a bunch of us making the trip, and we can't wait to see Jansen Weatherly showcase his skills on a black diamond.
Phoenix's schedule is also posted at their website, and The Funeral is showing twice over the weekend of April 3.
Laid Off By Lehman was recently accepted by the Palm Beach International Film Festival. So that'll be happening April 23-27.
And lastly, The Funeral got into a festival you can just take a subway to! And even better, they also accepted The Wildflower, which will be shown the same night - May 4. This is for the Brooklyn Arts Council, and the screening is at an art space in Dumbo called Galapagos that seats 175 and has a 1600-foot indoor lake... so bring your swim trunks.
March 11, 2009
We're pleased to announce that Laid Off By Lehman won the Audience Award last Friday at the NYC Iron Mule Comedy Festival, and we have the (conservative) clap-o-meter reading to prove it.
March 05, 2009
Laid Off By Lehman has another public screening coming up, this time at the NYC Downtown Short Film Festival Audience Screening on March 21st. Click here for tickets and come exercise your $10 right-to-vote.
March 03, 2009
The Funeral is now premiering at this year's Aspen ShortsFest. We're pretty pysched for audiences in both Aspen and Phoenix (as previously announced) to screen our most ambitious film to-date, not to mention the chance for some winter skiing in the Rockies. See the blurb below detailing the highlights of the Aspen ShortsFest, and come west with us. We're told that The Funeral will be shown the aftenoon of Saturday, April 4th. We'll post more informtation as it's released.
Widely recognized as one of the world’s premiere showcases for short film and video, Aspen Shortsfest offers an intimate international forum for emerging artists, established film professionals, and film-loving audiences. Aspen Shortsfest is one of only a few festivals worldwide recognized by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences able to send its top prize winners to compete for the Oscars. With the proliferation of film and video content websites, the short film has enjoyed a renaissance fueled by easy access and the desire for new, unencumbered, on-demand entertainment. Aspen Film celebrates and honors this concise popular film art form in a spotlight all its own.
February 25, 2009
The Untucked collective would like to congratulate Steve and Nicole and welcome our newest cast member, Isabella Giraldi.

February 24, 2009
The Funeral, the sixteen minute dramedy we shot last summer, will make its debut at the 2009 Phoenix Film Festival. Congratulations to everyone involved, which was pretty much everyone we know. It's not available to watch here, but we can arrange for a private screening if you ask nicely.
February 23, 2009
Laid Off By Lehman was selected by the NYC Iron Mule Comedy Festival, which is screening Friday, March 6th at the 92Y Tribeca. Yep, right in the backyard of those broker folks.
February 21, 2009
A happy belated birthday to Lewis. Cheers.
February 02, 2009
Here's the brand new video for the Señors of Marseille for their song "Coolest Girl in New York." The video stars Merritt Gurley, Rahmel Long, Sui Keung Wong, Claudia Apicella and of course the band. Also, many thanks to our resident DP, Patrick Armitage, and the various Columbia Street establishments for their continued tolerance of Untucked Films.
December 26, 2008
Happy birthday to Steve, you total DILF-to-be.
December 01, 2008
Happy birthday to Jonathan, who would like you to go here, here, or here to get him a gift.
November 17, 2008
This past weekend, we took a break from shooting shorts to take care of some long overdue business with the Señors of Marseille with the making of a music video for their song, "Coolest Girl in New York." The shoot was super fun hanging out with the band and other cast, and the day also involved a battle of the bands (sorta). Be on the lookout for the video and this band's first E.P. coming out soon.
November 12, 2008
Our Lehman Brothers short got written up by the German edition of the Financial Times, so we plugged the text into an online translator. Apparently in German, it's about a "jobless banker" who "searched consolation in the (peach?) Schnapps" and "must roast eggs to himself what fails pitifully." All future Untucked scripts will now be put through the same translator prior to shoot dates.
November 10, 2008
Better late than never. As in 2 a.m. EST tonight. That's when Untucked makes it's Comedy Central debut. Tune in to see "How to Get Gonorrhea" on Comedy Central's Atom TV.
October 17, 2008
Lately, the economy has taken a severe beating, and Wall Street has some rental office space available for anyone interested. So we decided to document one man's struggle with recent unemployment. Check out "Laid Off By Lehman" on youtube or here on our website.
October 09 , 2008
A while back, Comedy Central bought an educational video we did called "How to Get Gonorrhea." They have now released it on Atom.com and will be broadcasting it on Nov. 10th at 2:00 A.M. (technically the morning of Nov. 11th). Watch it below and be sure to repost it on your facebooks, tumblrs and twitters so that the whole world can learn about this wonderful disease (and also so that Comedy Central sees the web stats and buys more stuff from us).
October 02 , 2008
For those of you who couldn't make it out last Friday, our two Tropfest films, "The Wildflower" and "Mrs. Jones" are now posted on our site under Shorts. Enjoy.
September 30, 2008
The Paul Curreri music video we mentioned back in May is now completed and posted. It's for his song "Fat Killer At Dawn," which is on his album The Velvet Rut. The video was shot and directed by Lewis, who would like to give his most appreciative thanks ever to Susan and Jodie for their art direction and set design.
September 27, 2008
Untucked represented well at Tropfest NY 2008, with Chuck's short "The Wildflower" placing 3rd overall. And it is an even bigger pleasure to have had our leads take home the Best Actor and the Best Actress awards - Jonathan Harford in his role in "The Wildflower" and Barbara Singer in Jonathan's film "Mrs. Jones." Plus we got to watch "The Switch" on the same screen it debuted on in last year's Tropfest, this time as part of the "Best Of Tropfest" package.
Thanks to all out friends and family for braving the weather and making it out in support of us last night. We couldn't ask for a better supporting cast.
The Filmmakers
3rd Place - Chuck Divak
Best Actor - Jonathan Harford
Best Actress - Barbara Singer
September 25, 2008
Tropfest is in 24 hours and yes, it is rain or shine. So grab your umbrellas, ponchos, some wine and plastic cups, maybe some munchies. No amount of rain is gonna stop us from guilting you into coming.
Show starts at 8. If you're there at 7 you're probably guaranteed a seat.
And most importantly, immediately following the awards head just four blocks away to the Untucked Afterparty at the Dakota Roadhouse. Drink up, dry off and order yourself some greasy burgers and PB&Js.
September 21, 2008
A hearty happy birthday to our principle partner and primary editor, Chuck, who turns the big ole 3-0 today.
September 17, 2008
Tropfest NY is coming up in precisely 9 days - Friday, September 26th to be exact, and Untucked will once again be there in full participation. Jonathan's short titled "Mrs. Jones" and Chuck's film titled "The Wildflower" were both chosen as one of the eight finalists for this year's competition. And our short, "The Switch," which placed 3rd last year, is also being screened as part of this year's first-ever Tropfest "Best Of" package.
We had a blast last year and expect even more (FREE!) fun times along the Hudson River with our 8,000 closest friends. So come join us. Sun down and films up at 8pm.
Click on the flyer below in order to read the fine print.
August 21, 2008
Beginning tomorrow, the fine folks over at the Bushwick Film Festival are hosting a weekend-long shindig, which includes screening a short (or two) of ours as part of their 2008 festivities. I think our stuff is being shown Friday evening, but check their website for the complete schedule. We hope to see you on the JMZ.
August 19, 2008
We shot two shorts this past weekend, one in our usual location of Red Hook and one out in Long Island. Big thanks to the cast and crew for making our lives easier. Pictures from the two shoots are posted below and also here.
June 22, 2008
Untucked took the show on the road for their latest film, "The Funeral." Shot on location in Chatham, Mass. and working with some new faces in front of as well as behind the camera, Untucked jammed 45 hours of filming into 3 days and learned how to bbq tofu in the spare time. All in all, it was a successful weekend. See proof in the pictures below (taken by Tate Pasternak).
May 27, 2008
Hey, Drunken Celebrity Phone Calls was the daily feature video on Funny or Die yesterday. Now it's simply another video on Funny or Die, but for 24 hours, it was the daily feature. We can't actually prove it anymore since that day has passed, but trust us as we humbly tell you: we're important.
May 09, 2008
Despite the lack of news updates, Untucked has been busy writing and preparing for numerous summer projects. And yesterday, we shot a music video for one of our favorite singer/songwriters, Mr. Paul Curreri. The shoot was a success with some instrumental help from friends and 10 a.m. Sierra Nevadas. And we can't say enough about Paul either - buy his albums, see his shows - an absolute talent.
March 11, 2008
Additions to the Shorts page: 2 new ones (The Message and The Switch) and 2 old ones (Baby and The Ex). Check it out on your employer's time.
March 02, 2008
Hey look! It's another Eames Era video, this time for their tune "Little Brother." Check it out on our Music Video page.
In other news, we're in the process of mass-producing dvds of our Volume 2 body of work as seen at our screening. If you are interested in owning one, email us.
February 23, 2008
We've put up a three new shorts: The Talent, Drunken Celebrity Phone Calls, and The Journey. Enjoy.
February 21, 2008
We can't say it enough - lots and lots of thanks to everyone who came to the screening last night. Super fun times. We'll be updating the website soon with everything shown last night, so keep checking back if you're dying to see it all again and again and again...
February 18, 2008
Happy birthday to our youngest and most sophomoric Untucked member - Lewis. Buy him a beer at Parkside and then watch him fall down a lot.
February 10, 2008
We're very excited to have our 2nd Annual Screening at Parkside Lounge coming up on February 20th at 7:30pm. We'd be delighted to have you there in attendance. You'll get an hour's worth of fairly new material from us, followed by three musical acts that we think collectively, could make for a pretty great Wednesday night out in New York City. We'll see you then.
Feb. 20th at Parkside Lounge, NYC
07:30 - Untucked Films
09:30 - Senors of Marseille
10:30 - Dan Zweben
11:30 - Rawles BallsJanuary 14, 2008
Scratch what we said below about January 23rd. It's instead happening on February 20th. Will let you know more as we get closer to time.
January 03, 2008
Oops. We messed up. It seems as though our most senior partner increased in age back on December 26th, and I didn't alert the masses. So in apologetically belated fashion, let's say happy birthday to Steve. And Happy 2008 too, while we're at it and all.
December 19, 2007
Mark your brand new '08 calendars that your mom sends you for Christmas with this tidbit of info: Untucked Films, Parkside Lounge,
January 23rd(now Feb. 20th). More details to come.December 01, 2007
Happy birthday to Jonathan, who is celebrating in true dive-bar fashion at the Cherry Tavern.
November 09, 2007
We shot something about STDs last weekend. We're shooting something about aliens this weekend. It's like we're adapting Kilgore Trout novels.
October 12, 2007
Evidently, we've got some films being screened in this weekend's Red Hook Film Festival, which is nice considering Red Hook is host to the majority of our shoots. The festival is this Saturday and Sunday beginning at 2pm and located at 499 Van Brunt Street, as you can see in the flyer below. We don't know when our stuff is being shown, but if you find yourself in Red Hook this weekend, check it out - it's free.
October 06, 2007
Tribeca uploaded all the Tropfest films on their website, so you can now view "The Switch" here. We also filmed a short Tropfest recap video, which can be viewed here or below.
Untucked is staying busy with continued projects and such in hopes of a winter screening. As for today, perhaps we'll see you at Randall's Island.
September 25, 2007
Tribeca TropFest 2007 has come and gone, and we're pleased to announce that "The Switch" placed 3rd overall. It was an excellent screening, an amazing turnout (as you can see for yourself in the picture below - a reported 8,000 attended) and a damn good time. We'll be posting the film here on our site soon enough, so stay tuned. Thanks again to everyone involved and to the other 15 finalists, and to any of you that came out that night. And big congratulations specifically to Jonathan, writer and director.
September 21, 2007
Happy birthday to Chuck. He's a Virgo. According to Wikipedia, Virgos can be very passive and often respond well to gifts, but will not ask or depend on them. Email us for his mailing address.
September 18, 2007
We would just like to remind everyone about the Tribeca Tropfest screening this Sunday. It's free and open to the public, so come on out to see 16 seven-minute shorts. Steve is on score-update-duty of the Cowboys-Bears game, utilizing his personalized iPhone.
September 12, 2007
Here's a little behind-the-scenes video we made of our weekend with the Eames Era back in June. You can also view a non-YouTube version here. Oh, and Ted from the band did one too, recapping their entire summer tour.
August 29, 2007
Untucked has landed a short in the Tropfest @ Tribeca, and we've got the laurels jpeg to prove it. "The Switch", written and directed by Jonathan, will be one of 16 shorts screened on September 23rd at the World Financial Center in downtown Manhattan. We can't post it here until then, but you can read more about it here. Whether we win or lose, at least we got Robert DeNiro's Fedex number.
August 28, 2007
We've completed a short titled "Loose Tea" that was shot on Memorial Day at our friend's East Village tea shop, Sympathy for the Kettle. We used six new actors who were awesome. Check it out in our shorts section.
August 21, 2007
The First Annual Bushwick Film Festival is this weekend. The folks over there are super nice and having an entire "Untucked Presents" portion, featuring most all of our shorts. Our time slot is this Friday, Aug 24, at 8pm followed by a short Q&A. Location: 195 Morgan Ave. If you're in Brooklyn this Friday, come say hi and ask us what you've always wanted to ask: Who's the dreamy guy in all your films? (The answer is Chuck).
August 20, 2007
Remember that Eames Era video we said would be coming really soon? Well, "really soon" isn't supposed to imply 2 months later, but we feel confident that the video is better for the time spent making it. With that said, we're very happy to present our second of three Eames Era music videos, this one for the song titled "When You Were a Millionaire." Check it out under our music video page. (Lou Reed makes a special guest appearance). And be sure to also check out their new album, "Heroes + Sheroes." All four of us agree that it's the most solid album we've purchased in the last 12 months.
August 01, 2007
Untucked is making its BIG screen debut this weekend. Think real big. Some of our work will be shown on the big screens at the Virgin Mobile Festival in Baltimore this weekend as part of a film series being shown between bands. We’re not entirely sure what of ours will be screened… we think it’s the two Eames Era videos for “Watson” and “Millionaire”
(coming soon!), as well as the “Arcade Fire Short” possibly. Regardless, some of our favorites such as Spoon, TVOTR and Modest Mouse along with 60,000 fans will be subjected to our filmmaking, and to be honest, that’s kinda cool to us. What’s not cool is the festival being headlined by The Police (taking terrible reunion tours to a whole new level). That’s not Untucked’s official position just mine: keeper of the dotcom. But don’t simply take my word for their suck, just ask the drummer. With that said, if you happen to be there this weekend, let us know what our logo looks like blown up billboard-sized.June 17, 2007
The Eames Era and Untucked collectively had a weekend of epic proportions that left two great shows, two lively video shoots and one trashed apartment in its wake. For one of the videos, we cast about 15 kids who were super cute and cooperative, and we can't thank them and their parents enough. For the other video, we asked the band to pull out their thespian skills, and sure enough, they gave us a VMA-worthy performance. We hope to turn one of these videos around in edit really soon, so keep your looking balls locked and loaded.

One more reminder about the Eames Era shows in NYC this weekend: Friday night at Union Hall and Saturday night at Pianos. Guaranteed good times.

On Saturday the 16th, we are throwing a kids birthday party and filming it for an Eames Era music video. There will be a clown, a Lou Reed birthday cake and one of the best bands in indie pop. The shoot will last a couple of afternoon hours. Kids need to be age 4 to 12 and near NYC. You will also get a dvd of the video once completed, and your involvement would be much appreciated by us and the band. If you'd like to bring your child, please email Jonathan directly at jonemmerling@hotmail.com for details. Thanks!

A few months ago, we met a man named Tom Gilroy on the F-train. Last night, his latest script, "Location," was a featured as part of the Sundance Institute at BAM (in Brooklyn). It was a very cool evening and equally cool script, so keep an eye out for that sometime in the future and get to BAM as often as possible for other interesting films, performances and events.

Untucked spent their Memorial Day at the coolest East Village tea house, doing what we do - shooting. This particular short's title is still up for debate, and we probably won't have a finished product to show you anytime before the fall. So you'll just have to trust us when we say it went well. It was especially exciting to work with a new batch of great actors.
On the Untucked horizon: a script meeting on Thursday, an Eames Era music video in June, and numerous shorts to complete this summer.

Untucked and BrooklynVegan team up to bring you Patrick Wolf, live from New York's Union Square Virgin Record Store. You can view the entire show here, or you can see our clip on Youtube featuring the song "The Libertine."

BrooklynVegan invited Untucked to shoot a performance by an Englishman named Patrick Wolf last night at the Union Square Virgin Record Store. We didn't know much about him or his music beforehand, but we're glad we do now. It was a great show, and we captured some great footage. And we're going to put it up on the internet real soon... for you, for BrooklynVegan and for Patrick's dad (happy birthday).

We met up yesterday to commence shooting "Revelations." It is as dark as it sounds. After a few hours of shooting at Jonathan's apartment and another hour of horseplaying at the Cobble Hill children's playground, we settled in to Pioneer Bar for burgers, beers, fries, and our two new favorites - the mac n' cheese and the pulled pork sandwich. If you haven't been, well, you should rectify that as soon as possible. (--Ed. note: Pioneer Bar seems closed these days. Confusion? Yes. Panic? Possibly).
Untucked is in the midst of multiple scripts and ideas in which we will be looking to cast soon. We'll let you know more about that later. We are also looking for some various locations to shoot in, and if you could help with that, we'd be grateful. We're looking for a cafe or coffee shop, a fancy restaurant, a gymnasium and a science/lab/institution type facility. So if you know of something, drop us an email. Thanks.

The website's been quiet, but Untucked's been busy. And so we return with those two Hold Steady videos we mentioned earlier, plus a complete DIY video by Jonathan that captures the need for more roadtrips. All three videos are part of a competition put on by the band and Fuse TV and can be viewed here and here. Winners will be announced in a month or so.

Untucked is back in the edit suite today to work on two Hold Steady videos. We're going in with a vague recollection of those five hours of filming, 24 various clay models, a busted turntable, an impromptu bartending gig and a plentitude of red wine, white russians and tequila shots. Needless to say, we're not exactly sure what we're going to get in edit. We're hoping for miracles.

YouTubers are really checking out the Arcade Fire Short. It is also mentioned at Entertainment Weekly, Blender and Paper. Evidently people like our work, or at least most of you...

"That was awful. It was like a rejected mad tv sketch done by self righteous indie kids. Blech... Go away forever."March 06, 2007
We've completed the Arcade Fire Short. It was also featured on the wonderful BrooklynVegan and PreFixMag today. See links for good times. Many thanks to the Arcade Fire for their presumed support.

Tomorrow’s Untucked shoot is clay-themed. Enough with actors and their neurotic demands. And no band? No problem. “Stuck Between Stations” takes on a life of its own with Craig Finn & Co. manning the turntable. It should be an adventure. Look for this music video real soon.

We had a script meeting last week where we each presented what we want to shoot next. We already shot one of them in sub-zero temperatures outside the Arcade Fire performances at Judson Church here in New York City. Even Kirsten Dunst made fun of us. But it was worth it. We will be editing soon, so look for that in a few weeks.

Happy Birthday to Lewis. He turns the ripe age of 27.
